Alright, David, Tim, Adam Andrzejewski will be with us a little later in the program from Openthebooks.com. It’s all about transparency, guys. It’s all about actually knowing what our government is doing. And, I mean, even when I was a legislator, it felt like a black hole. It was just like there was so much money being spent, so many different programs. How do you get weighed through this stuff? And how do you really know what your government is doing? And you need more transparency to do that.

David:

Transparency is a huge thing, and the more the government does what’s wrong, the less transparency they want, the more they want to keep it hidden. And we’re seeing that now in so many things where the FOIAs, the Freedom of Information Act, people are asking for information. CDC is a great example. Hey, we want to see all the information you have on the vaccines and the testing. Well, we can’t really release that because it’s all tied up and they’ve been given excuses for months, and now it’s starting to come out. And the more comes out, the more we’re seeing that, hey, you guys had nearly no basis for the policies you came up with you claimed were following the science. You guys made stuff up.

And now we’re finding with the real stats that are coming out, including from the companies that you endorsed and the vaccines you proposed that the stats are totally different than what you were saying. And so there is a real need for sunlight. And this is not a new concept because I was just looking, just thinking about this thing with what Adams got going and thinking of all the verses in the Bible that talk about life and how important light is.

Jesus said we’re salt, but he also says we’re light. What does light do? It lights up things. It takes things that are in darkness and puts it out there where you can see, it brings things out. And so I just started looking at Bible verses. And Ephesians 5 says everything that’s exposed by the light becomes visible. And so you want things to be visible, you want to see what’s there, which means light needs to shine on it. And we’re told in 2 Corinthians, you can’t have light and darkness together, the two things don’t work. Light has to come in and chase away the darkness. And then John 3 says, whoever practices the truth comes to the light so that what he’s doing may be seen.

And so right away, CDC well, they didn’t come to the light, so they must not have been practicing the truth. But there’s just so many verses on bringing things to light and that we should be the children of light and we should be open upfront with what we’re doing and what we believe and say. We should be transparent. And that’s what we want from government. And anytime you don’t see transparency in government, you know that something really bad is going on.

And so I think we have to get to the point where that as citizens, we start demanding more transparency, we demand it from the school board, demand it from city council. Hey, I’m going to see your budget numbers. I want to see what the salaries are you’re paying your people. I mean, who in the world until this thing knew that Fauci is getting paid more than the President of the United States, and that when he retires, he’ll still be getting paid more than the President of the United States? I don’t think we want to pay that much for that position. That’s crazy. But nobody knew that until this stuff started coming where we’re starting to ask questions.

And so some of the stuff that’s happening, it just needs more sunshine on it. And we’re starting to see some people get really emboldened to saying, show me the books, show me the records, show me what’s there, get the stuff to me. And I think that every one of us as citizens needs to get that mentality. Whether it’s local government, whether it’s state government, national government, we cannot be content with letting people just hide things and not let that stuff be seen.

Tim:

Well, I’m excited for this interview with Adam. We were in a place where we got to hear him at a conference that’s too long ago, and some of the stuff he was sharing was pretty staggering. And just to get perspective, dad, as you’re talking we want transparency, if we take the example of President Joe Biden, in less than two years, he’s done 99 executive orders that have now accounted for $1.5 trillion in taxpayer money. Well, what in the world are we spending $1.5 trillion from executive orders? Who are we paying? And what are we paying for? And where is this money going? Like literally, there’s no level of transparency.

And one of the things that’s actually very important for levels of accountability is you need transparency. Because if we knew what was happening, we would say, wait a second, we are not in favor of hundreds of millions of dollars going there or billions of dollars going in that location. But when there’s no transparency, there cannot be accountability. And unfortunately, we have become very comfortable in America with not having transparency. It’s become a new acceptable standard that, well, this notion we heard years ago with even like Obamacare, we have to pass it before we can find out what’s in it.

That is one of the most ridiculous statements you could possibly make about passing legislation. You don’t know what you’re passing, but you want me to vote in favor of it. The American people, even Congress, has become comfortable without having levels of transparency, without there being clarity of what we are doing and why we’re doing it and where it’s going and how it’s going to happen. This is one of those interviews that I think will encourage a lot of people and motivate a lot of people that people will want to get involved once they realize that transparency is available on some levels. And with transparency, there can be accountability.

David:

And I would add one more thing, Tim, with that transparency, we’re starting to see now people are getting interested in the Constitution. Rick, all the constitution, how many Constitution coaches are there now that you’ve got, 15,000?

Rick:

15,000, yeah.

David:

So that’s 15,000 people teaching Constitution classes. I don’t know any time in my lifetime we’ve had that many ever where the average citizens are wanting to get into this. And I say that because, Tim, you mentioned that Biden in 99 executive orders are 1.5 trillion. Significantly, the only entity in the federal government that is allowed to spend money is the House of Representatives. Not even the Senate can do that. The president can do that. The Founding Father specifically said it has to be that body that faces the people most often, so that if they start getting out of bounds, people can slap them around, electorally speaking in elections.

So Biden doesn’t even have the constitutional authority to appropriate that money, it’s got to be done through the House. And now, granted, maybe Pelosi is going to rubber stamp everything he wants, but it has to start in the House of Representatives. And so the transparency, it’s got to be coupled with constitutional knowledge as well or biblical knowledge or whatever we’re talking about. We have to have knowledge and ask the right questions. And that’s what Adam has done. He’s asked the right questions. He’s got knowledge stuff he knows what he’s looking for because he spent that time in it. And that’s what’s going to happen with the Constitution. We’re going to get back to that. We’re seeing it. And again, Rick, just kudos, 15,000 coaches, that’s hundreds of thousands of people being taught the Constitution. That in itself is going to help produce a revival in America.

Rick:

It does. And it helps them kind of know what to look for. Many today assert that religion is something private, that it has no place in the public square, and that it is incompatible with government. But the Founding Fathers believed exactly the opposite. They held that religion was absolutely necessary in order to maintain our free system of government.

For example, John Adams declared, “We have no government armed with power capable of contending with human passions unbridled by morality and religion.” And signer of the Declaration Benjamin Rush similarly affirmed, “Without religion, there can be no virtue, and without virtue, there can be no liberty; and liberty is the object and life of all republican governments. Welcome back to WallBuilders Live. Thanks for staying with us. Special guest today, and I’m going to name know your name, Adam. Here we go. Adam Andrzejewski, is that even close? Did I get it?

Adam:

Dandy. It’s not as easy as Green. But look, it’s not easy being Andrzejewski, especially, there’s a second part of this. I’m from Illinois and it’s the Super Bowl of corruption. It doesn’t get any easier.

Rick:

Oh, no kidding, man. Well, hey, I had a great time getting to visit with you at a conference we recently attended together. Your presentation was absolutely outstanding. And I think it gave hope to a lot of the people that were there because of the results that you’re getting with Open The Books, and so we just said, man, we got to get you on the show and share that with our listeners and also encourage them to use the tools that you’re creating. So, really looking forward to today. Thanks for what you’re doing.

Let’s start with the website. So folks that wants to go there and learn more and see some of these reports, it’s openthebooks, is it dotcom?

Adam:

Yes.

Rick:

Openthebooks.com. Tell us why. And I don’t know how you did it in such a short period at that conference, but tell us why you did this and how it’s being used by people to stop corruption and uncover corruption in our governments.

Adam:

So the first thing is anybody listening to the program, just come to the website and you can search up to 25 million salaries and pension records from public employees at every level. I’m talking, federal, state, or right in your own backyards, right in your own K-12 school districts, for example. If you want to know who is making how much money in which position at any unit of government, we got 50,000 units of government in our database. You can search it all right from our home page for free. So that’s number one. Number two…

Rick:

And Adam, if I can stop you there, because this takes away the intimidation, right. We recognize there’s problems, but we look at this behemoth of government, we don’t know how to crack the nut. We don’t know how to get inside what they’re doing and see what’s happening and then have actionable steps. And that’s what you’ve done. You’ve taken that and literally opened the books and you’ve made it easily accessible to us to be able to look at our local governments and our state governments as well. So anyway, that’s one, which was huge and got my attention this weekend.

Adam:

Yeah, well said. Look, we all have an obligation. A year ago, America’s Attorney General, Merrick Garland sick the FBI on parents who stand up at school board meetings. So come to openthebooks.com, you’re going to have questions. When you review the payrolls of your school districts, go immediately, we have an obligation to give public comment at those board meetings, ask questions, demand answers right from public comment at the board meeting.

Rick:

That’s awesome. I love it. Okay, I interrupted you. What you were going to a second point?

Adam:

Basically, not quite, but almost, we’ve captured every dime taxed and spent at every level of government across the entire country for the first time in history and we put it all up there so people can search it at no charge. One of the most recent accomplishments, and it’s been historic, has been our ten year fight to open the line by line spending in the state of California. We went through two California controllers. We sued in a Sacramento superior court and lost. The judge ruled against us. We got nothing.

We then pivoted to plan B. We filed 442 sunshine requests in California with every single state agency; and in four months, we compiled the line by line spending from the agencies and put it together on our website. So we did with the governor, the controller, the Attorney General, who backed the controller in court, what the judge, the lawmakers, and the state bureaucrats have refused to do. We opened the books in the state of California.

Rick:

Oh, wow! And now let’s take that to the next step as an example, because a lot of our listeners are in California. They say, I want to do something with that and then our listeners outside of California say, okay, I want to get that information for my area and do something. So then what do you encourage local activists to do with that information? So as they go in there and they find these things, how do they then take that and give that information to their community and raise awareness of it or maybe even run against some of those local people and some of the things that are being done?

Adam:

Absolutely. We have the checkbooks in every state now. California was the loan hold out, and it’s easily accessible right from the homepage of our website. You can search your own state checkbook, and it’s pretty amazing stuff. You can see the words Planned for Planned Parenthood, and you can see all the payments. And for any state vendor across the entire country, you can just do it all from our homepage.

But what we did, our first project was in California, we took governor Gavin Newsom’s campaign donor disclosures, we matched it up with the state vendor list, and here’s what we found. We found he engaged in the highly unethical practice of soliciting a thousand state vendors for campaign donations. Those state vendors gave Newsome $10.6 million in campaign cash. They received just last year in fiscal year 2021, $6.2 billion.

Rick:

Wow! So the very people he’s doling out cash to and billions of dollars in cash, he’s turning around saying, hey, time for you to pat my pocket?

Adam:

So if you’re seeing his political advertising in South Dakota on the billboards in Texas and Florida up on Fox News, keep in mind that Governor Newsom has pioneered a way to publicly finance his campaign by soliciting some of the largest state contractors who are recycling a piece of the profits from their state contract right back to governor Newsom’s campaign fund. So if you’re upset that your taxes are high in California, taxpayers have a big stake in Governor Newsom’s campaign expenditures.

For instance, $10.6 million raised from those 1,000 state vendors, that is a material amount that’s material. For instance, it’s 40% of his current cash on hand in his campaign account. He’s got $24 million and 10.6 million of it came from state vendors.

Rick:

Wow! Okay. I love your theme, by the way, “Every time online in real time.” So you put this information out there, it’s actionable for people in California to talk about and bring up in not only these campaigns, but looking at the influence in the legislature, all these different things. And then one you mentioned that I think is, I mean, we all know now who the highest paid federal employee is, this criminal enterprise is taking place in Washington DC. And you’re the ones that figured that out, that was able to identify Anthony Fauci’s outrageous salary and the pension that he’s going to get.

Adam:

Right. It made a big national impact. So in January of 2021, we’d looked at our federal payroll data, and we saw Fauci. He was number one. He out-earned everybody, the president, four star generals in the United States military, 4.3 million of his colleagues at the federal level. And people had questions, as how can Fauci out-earned everybody else? And so, that started us down an investigation where you had to file four federal lawsuits, judicial watches our legal partner on this, and it’s made congressional hearings.

So if you remember, Rick, back in January, US Senator Roger Marshall from Kansas spent five minutes with Fauci on the hot seat and it was Fauci’s code red moment. Marshall was questioning Fauci honest finances. Marshall cited my column at Forbes as the source, and faucet melted down on national television. You can’t be America’s top doctor if you’re melting down calling a United States senator on the hot mike a moron. And that’s exactly what happened when Fauci was questioned on his finances, which was the direct result of our investigation.

Rick:

I love it. Kudos to you guys, man. Absolutely incredible. And then, of course, Rand Paul has been using a lot of the data and information that you guys were able to uncover. It’s such an important weapon in this literally economic warfare we’re dealing with the amount of tax dollars being confiscated from the American people and then wasted in these various ways.

So, uncovering that, showing it to people, giving them ways to use that information, we got a ton of constitution coaches out there and others that are listening now. I encourage you guys to share this with your classes, share this with your students, get the word out there. Openthebooks.com, this does not happen for free. Tim:

Well, one of the things that I instantly thought of in the interview with several years ago, there’s a local school here in Texas that’s done very well in football. And this public high school reports came out that their head coach, who then became the athletic director, he was making nearly half a million dollars a year. He’d been to the school a long time. They won a lot of state championships, and it’s a very large school. And so he was getting paid very well. And you’re hearing going, this is crazy, this football coach is making half a million a year.

And then a report came out that the principal was required to be the highest paid person in the district, and so because in order to keep this football coach, they had to elevate the pay to keep this football coach because there was a great demand in Texas where for so many people, football is god and this coach has been recruited at other places. All I have to say, it’s between two people, it was more than a million dollars. And this was years ago, right. Not where we are in this inflated crazy market today, where the dollar is devalued. Years ago, it was like this, and it really started to make some of us wonder.

We already knew in public schools, instead of the majority of dollars and even individuals being classroom teachers, we knew the majority of dollars. And at times the majority of individuals on staff at school are on the administrative side. And so the dollars were not always going to the classroom. And the reason I bring this up is when I heard this interview, I thought, okay, now we finally have a reliable place, we can go back and we can look and we can see who is making what kind of money.

And this is not necessarily to throw people under the bus. But as we mentioned even before the interview, when you have levels of transparency, then you can begin to have accountability because once the people find out what’s going on, then they actually can have an educated voice in communicating positions or grievances or in favor of.

And as we’ve seen more and more parents getting involved in school board meetings, certainly, the curriculum is one of the most vital topics to talk about, whether it be things with American history or science and biology or human sexuality and the sex Ed curriculum. There’s a lot of topics to talk about when it comes to school board meetings. But now parents can actually be informed and they can even know what some of the people are making and where some of their dollars are going.

Because if you start looking at where dollars are being spent in schools and we haven’t even gotten into government yet, where dad you mentioned with Dr. Fauci and what he’s making and what he’s going to make in retirement, when really the dude should arguably be going to jail for lying to Congress, lying to the American people. But again, once there’s a place where we can go and we can discover truth, once you have transparency, there can be accountability. So guys, I’m excited to go check out the site and even find out some more information about some of the local government employees in my own community.

David:

Yeah, I mean, go look. But it’s going to take us being self-motivated. We can’t sit on the sidelines and say somebody else is going to do this. We have got to become the stewards of our own government, the stewards of our own community. This is something where we have to walk back into this. We’ve just let them do it. I don’t want to get involved in controversy. They’re crazy. I’m just going to stay out of their way. We can’t let them be crazy anymore. We’ve got to go in and find out what’s going on.

And this is where, alright, granted, you can’t change Biden, but you know what, you can change your school district. You can ask questions or change the city council or change your junior college board or something else. And that’s where every one of us has to take a responsibility for what’s going on around us. There’s just too many scriptures that you cannot just turn a blind eye and expect to not be held accountable. And I know good and well that we’re going to stand before God. And He said, hey, I put you in that community to be salt and light, how come you didn’t do anything? Why didn’t you ask the questions? Why didn’t you find out?

And so I think this is a real challenge for all of us. We’ve got to be salt, we’ve got to be light. That means we have to bring things out where they can be seen. And this is a great tool to do it. So hopefully people will get self-motivated and start getting into this just like they are getting into school board elections. Now we’re seeing elections turn all over the country. We need to see administration change as well in the way they do the things they do.

Rick:
